These services must be made visible, managed and rewarded. SmartGAPP and the underlying public goods bonus 3D (PGB 3D) demonstrates how this could be achieved – and thus point the way forward for the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

Understanding PGB 3D

The public goods bonus was developed by Landcare Germany (DVL) has already been recognised by the European Commission as an innovative and field-approved model.
The PGB 3D is based on the principle of ‘public money for public goods’ and is ideally suited for integration into the CAP 2028. In this way, it supports the sustainable transformation of agriculture across Europe.
